Ellsworth's Mike Traynor penetrating on a single leg attempt on Troy Kissel of Holmen in the 185 lb. Wisconsin State Tournament finals. Traynor went on to win the state title with a 13-7 decision helping his team claim the team championship.

Jeff Randall, Mauston, reversing the situation on Mike Koeing of Valders in the class B semi-finals of the Wisconsin State Tournament, Randall won the match 7-2 and went on to win the 126 pound state championship.

Idaho, in the National Jr. College finals, Kenny Rucker (Top) beats Les Kvien of runnerup Bismarck, ND, 16-10 despite suffering a shoulder seperation with 14 seconds left in the second period. Rucker survived six stalling points awarded to his opponent. Rucker also won the meets Sportsmanship Award for his coureageous effort.
