USA's 1972 Gold Medal Wrestler American Dan Gable (149.6) against Soviet's Rusl Ashuraliev during the Olympic Games in Munich. Gable recieved the gold medal and Ashuraliev the bronze.

Idaho, in the National Jr. College finals, Kenny Rucker (Top) beats Les Kvien of runnerup Bismarck, ND, 16-10 despite suffering a shoulder seperation with 14 seconds left in the second period. Rucker survived six stalling points awarded to his opponent. Rucker also won the meets Sportsmanship Award for his coureageous effort.
